For the first time we have been able to produce long-term trends for many of the species on the RBBP list. Details are in our 2015 Annual Report and can be seen here. When viewing the trends, it is important to note that these are basic trends and that for many species on the list we know that reporting is incomplete. An indication of this can be found in the categorisations of coverage which we have presented for each species in our published reports since 2009. There are also various spatial and temporal biases which can influence these trends. As our datasets improve and with additional time we will be able to take better account of these biases and refine the trends. Nevertheless, they give broad indications of how populations of the UK's rare breeding birds have been faring in recent years.
